During this synchronous session, three lessons were discussed:

Basic Web Page Creation, and

Collaborative ICT Development.
However, I wasn’t able to join the class because I was sick. Fortunately, I have read the lesson and tried to understand it to the best of my ability. In this blog, I will talk about what I learned in our topic, Online Platforms for ICT Content Development.
Online Platform
An online platform is a digital service that facilitates interactions between two or more distinct but interdependent users, whether organizations or individuals who interact through the internet. These online platforms include presentation or visualization, cloud computing, social media, file management, mapping, and web page creation.
Presentation or Visualization
Presentation or visualization is an application built to display information in the form of a slide show. A presentation tool has three fundamental functions, a text editor, which inputs the contents of the presentation. An import function that inserts and manipulates images and other content and a slide-show or presenter mode that displays the content in an excellent, formatted way.
Cloud Computing
Cloud computing delivers services including servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and intelligence over the internet to offer faster innovation, flexible resources, and economies of scale. Examples include Google Drive, Dropbox, and One Drive.
Social Media
Social media is not new to everyone. In fact, almost every person I know has a social media account already. Social media refers to interactions among people in which they create, share, and exchange information and ideas in virtual communities and networks. The most popular social media platforms include Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
File Management
File management is the process and act of creating an organized structure in which you store information for easy retrieval. Aside from that, this allows people to convert and manage files without downloading the software tool. Word2pdf, smallpdf, and zamzar are a few examples of file management.
Mapping
Mapping, such as Google Maps, is a web mapping platform that provides detailed information about geographical regions and sites worldwide. It uses GPS to detect the location and is used for navigation.
Web Page Creation
Web page creation is the process of creating a plan and originating the development of a specific web page. This includes designing a web page’s appearance and choosing the suitable color scheme, page layout, fonts, and more. Nevertheless, using platforms such as Wix and Weebly doesn’t require programming skills as they provide a ‘drag and drop’ feature.
